Slumber Party

Slumber Party is a group of small sculptures that were shown at Mark Borghi Gallery as part of the exhibition, Beyond Secretary, curated by Jenny Mushkin Goldman.

Slumber Party is a group sculptures that explore female labor through the act of folding. The trophy-like stacks consist of fired clay, paint, and wood. The sculptures fix the action of folding in time and harden soft textures. The title, Slumber Party suggests a playfulness in referring to the feminine rite of passage of a sleepover while acknowledging the tedium of women's work.
